The Phil. Retailers Association held its 1st Quarterly General Meeting for 2014 on 26 March at the EDSA Shangrila with former BSP Chief Economist (now BPI’s Lead Economist) Mr. Emilio S. Neri, Jr. presenting his reading of the Phil. Economy. STC takes a shot with Mercury Drug’s Pres. Vivian Que-Azcona, touted one of Asia’s 50 Power Businesswome by Forbes Magazine for 2013.

  Mr. Kazuki Moribe/Pres. & CEO- Spyder Initiative Inc. of Japan was in the Philippines to explore for a Japanese manufacturer the potential to market consumer goods in an emerging market like ours. He paid a visit to office of PAGASA on 3/25/14. Accompanying him is the representative of GfK Custom Research Phils.

Upon the invitation of the Thai Embassy in the Philippines and Thailand’s Department of Int’l. Trade Promotion under their Ministry of Commerce, STC was present at the Opening of Thailand Week 2014 on 20 March 2014 at the Mall of Asia’s SMX.  He discussed retailing of products from SME’s and sustainable development with H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines together with Peter T. Quintana, Pres./Phil. Plastic Industry Association (PPIA). Also present to grace the Affair is DTI’s Asst. Sec. Fe Agoncillo-Reyes.

On 19 March 2014, the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) held its 17th Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Center of the Year Awards at Crowne Plaza. Theme for this year: The Visionaries. PAGASA’s Steven Cua was invited as presenter together with Puregold’s Aida de Guzman to announce the winners for five categories. This year’s prestigious President’s Award was given to Ms. Teresita Sy-Coson as Philippine Retailing’s Woman Visionary Leader. STC is seen congratulating this very humble yet powerful lady who made it to Forbes Magazine’s List of Asia’s Top 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen for the last couple of years.
