STC GUESTS AT DIFFERENT FORUMS REGARDING LOCKDOWN |
Friday, 05 August 2022 |
PAGASA Pres. Steven T. Cua has been featured in the news on television,
radio, dailies as well as online guestings on talk shows a week prior to
the third major lockdown in Metro Manila from 6-20 August 2021.
Abrupt changes in government restrictions on various aspects of the
lockdown from curfew hours to Authorized Person Out of their Residence
(APOR-only one per household) to shops permitted to operate, limitations
on purchasing of BNPCs to shortened store hours and availability of public
transport were some of the issues on the discussion table. Most basic in
the discussions of course was the supply situation given a one-week
announcement before the implementation of an Enhanced Community
Quarantine (ECQ) in the country's premier metropolis (extended to what
is called the Metro Manila Bubble Plus). |

SUPPLY CHAIN ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILS. INVITES PAGASA TO A WEBINAR ON SUPPLY CHAIN EFFICIENCIES |
Wednesday, 27 July 2022 |
PAGASA
was invited to attend a webinar on 27 July 2022 regarding supply chain
and how to prioritize cost over time over reliability given today's
disruptions. The cost of logistics has skyrocketted since the start of
conflict between Russia and Ukraine March of this year also due to port
and container van supply. The
cost of logistics has gone up to 25% of total product cost compared to
the standard of 10% for developed countries. Disruptions have limited
daily deliveries of trucks to just one trip or even half-a-trip compared
to three or four before these economic hazards. The Philippines is
currently exhibiting the highest growth rate for online sales in ASEAN
since it is coming from a low base.
